Hawks Hold on for 3-2 Win Over Vassar
NEW PALTZ, NY — The SUNY New Paltz Hawks men’s volleyball team hosted Vassar this afternoon and won a 3-2 decision. The Hawks took game one and two with scores of 30-28 and 33-31. The Brewers claimed games three and four (30-19 and 30-27). New Paltz held on to win game five 17-15 to claim their 20th win of the season.
Senior Jeff Lee led the attack with 19 kills. First year Christopher Holden recorded 14 kills and five block assists. Senior Joshua Spiro tallied 12 kills and eight blocks, while Ryan Huberty finished with 12 kills and Daniel Liberto finished with eight kills and eight blocks. Sophomore Matt Weingarten dished out 61 assists and Pedro Medina collected ten digs.
The Hawks return to action on Monday when they host Mt. St. Vincent at 7 p.m. Seniors Jeff Lee and Joshua Spiro will be honored prior to the game.
