Men’s Soccer Falls to Potsdam 2-1
POTSDAM, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team traveled North to take on the Potsdam Bears Friday afternoon in a SUNYAC match-up. Potsdam Jeremy Boula (Madrid/Madrid-Waddington) scored two goals as the Bears defeated SUNY New Paltz, 2-1.
Boula opened the scoring in the 31st minute with an assist from freshman Moss Seros (El Segundo, Ca./El Segundo). The goal came on Potsdam’s only shot in the first half.
New Paltz sophomore Thomas Libardi (Canaan/New Lebanon) tied the game at 1-1 with a goal in the 50th minute, for his first goal of the season. The Hawks flooded the 18-yard box in front of Potsdam goalkeeper Tyler Lattimore (Gansevoort/South High) before Libardi picked up a loose ball and pounded it into the net.
Boula’s game-winner came during the 76th minute with the assist being credited to Joe Chase (Fort Edward/South Glens Falls).
Lattimore made seven saves for the Bears as Senior goalie Jeffrey Dudley (Spackenkill/Poughkeepsie) stopped three shots for New Paltz who falls to 2-9-1 overall and 0-6-1 in SUNYAC play.
New Paltz will be in action again tomorrow at 1 p.m. when it takes on Plattsburgh in another conference matchup.
