Kelts and Glanzman Earn Spots on SUNYAC All-Conference Teams
FREDONIA, NY — The Hawks landed two seniors on the 2006 State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Conference Teams. Announced today, May 9, outfielder Bill Kelts (Waterford, NY) and first baseman Dean Glanzman (Commack, NY) garnered recognition on the SUNYAC All-Conference rosters. Kelts was named as a first team outfielder, while Glanzman received second team honors for his defensive play at first base.
Kelts and Glanzman both completed their collegiate career with the conclusion of the 2006 baseball season. Kelts, a two-year player at SUNY New Paltz, finished the season with a .420 batting average, while totaling seven homeruns and 44 RBI. Kelts set single-season records in his senior season with 60 hits, and 91 total bases, while tying the single-season RBI record (44). Glanzman closed out the year on an offensive tear, ending the 2006 season with a .316 batting average. He collected his first career homerun on May 1, in a 10-8 win over Old Westbury. Glanzman went 8-for-10 with six runs scored, eight RBI and four extra-base hits final two games of his career.
The Hawks finished their 2006 schedule at 20-20, the third 20-win season for the program and for Head Coach Mike Juhl. Kelts and Glanzman are the 24th and 25th all-conference selections under Coach Juhl.
