SUNY New Paltz Men’s Volleyball Team Defeats Mount Saint Vincent
RIVERDALE, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team captured their first conference win of 2006 with a 3-0 (30-15, 30-21, 30-25) win against Mount Saint Vincent College (1-2, 0-2).
SUNY New Paltz (3-1, 1-0) would take the first game 30-15, the second 30-21, and the third 30-25. Freshman setter Matt Weingarten (East Moriches, NY) tallied 21 assists, while senior opposite Ryan Bullard (Smithtown, NY) recorded seven kills.
The Hawks defense was paced by sophomore libero Pedro Medina (Brentwood, NY) who had eight digs. Senior outside hitter Jamie Kellogg (Scio, NY) recorded nine kills, while junior middle blocker Josh Spiro (Island Park, NY) totaled ten digs, two aces, and ten blocks in win for SUNY New Paltz.
The SUNY New Paltz men’s volleyball team will return to action Wednesday, February 1, at 7:00 pm, in their home opener against New Jersey City University.
