Irish Earns First Team All-Conference Acclaim
FREDONIA, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) announced the 2005 All-Conference Teams for Men’s Soccer today, November 4. Junior midfielder Jason Irish (Newburgh, NY) grabbed First Team recognition for his play over the 2005 season.
A newcomer, Irish, provided the Hawks with some much-needed offense to open up the year. In the first five games, Irish recorded three goals and an assist (7 points), he added his fourth goal against Geneseo later in the season. Irish was the Hawks second leading scorer in 2005 finishing the year with 4 goals and an assist (9 points). A transfer from Dutchess Community College, Irish joined the 2005 men’s soccer team as a junior.
The SUNY New Paltz men’s soccer team won three of their final five games to close out the season. The Hawks finished the year 7-12 overall and 1-8 in SUNYAC play.
