Public comment invited for re-accreditation process at SUNY New Paltz

NEW PALTZ — The State University of New York at New Paltz graduate programs in Communication Disorders are undergoing review for re-accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

As part of this process, the college is inviting public comment about its programs at a public meeting at 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, in Lecture Center 102. Students, clients of the SUNY New Paltz Speech-Language Hearing Center, and all other interested parties are invited to attend.

The ASHA Standards for Accreditation and the ASHA CAA Policy on Public Comment may be obtained by contacting the accreditation office at ASHA, 10801 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Md. 20852, by calling the ASHA Action Center at (800) 498-2071 or by accessing the documents at www.asha.org/about/credentialing/accreditation.

SUNY New Paltz has offered graduate study in Communication Disorders since 1982. The programs were accredited by ASHA in 1991 and were re-accredited in 1998.
