SUNY New Paltz Women’s Tennis Team Undefeated at 4-0

NEW PALTZ, NY — This afternoon, the SUNY New Paltz women’s tennis team improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in conference play with a 9-0 victory over Brockport.

SUNY New Paltz (4-0, 1-0) swept singles and doubles play. Freshman Dana Lim (New City, NY) made here first appearance in number one singles with a 6-3, 7-5 win over sophomore Ashley Balling (East Aurora, NY). Senior Maggie Fenton (East Meadow, NY) improves to 4-0 in singles play and 2-0 at number two singles with a 6-0, 7-6 victory. Freshman Katherine Ketigian (Garden City, NY) remains undefeated as a Hawk with a 6-3, 6-0 win in number three singles. At number four singles sophomore Jen Larson (Port Jervis, NY) defeated freshman Alex Hinckley (Newark, NY) in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Brittany Gilligan (Saratoga Springs, NY) won number five singles 6-1, 6-0. At number six singles freshman Lidsay Trifiletti (Mamaroneck, NY) grabbed her first singles win 6-1, 6-1.

In doubles competition, Lim and sophomore Eri Yamakawa (Eastchester, NY)defeated Balling and junior Kayla Mizgala (Rome, NY) 8-3 of Brockport (0-3, 0-2). Fenton and Larson won number two doubles 8-1. Freshman sisters Lindsay and Ashley Trifiletti (Mamaronek, NY) remained undefeated at number three doubles with an 8-3 win.
