SUNY New Paltz Men’s Soccer Team Falls to Brockport
BROCKPORT, NY — This afternoon the SUNY New Paltz Men’s soccer team fell to Brockport by a score of 3-0. The Hawks fall to 4-7 overall and 1-4 in the SUNYAC, while Brockport advances to 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the SUNYAC.
The Golden Eagles took the lead when Josh Piscitelli (Batavia, NY) took a pass from Mike Abgarian (Merrick, NY), and scored the first goal of the game at 26:41 in to the opening half. Less than five minutes later, Steve Abgarian (Merrick, NY) laced a ball into the net. Aaron Acello (East Rochester, NY) was credited with the assists. Piscitelli scored his second goal of the game with 12:23 remaining in the contest to solidify the victory for the Golden Eagles.
The Hawks junior goalkeeper Masonori Hotta (Hyogo, Japan) recorded 11 saves in the contest, while Chris Bedford (Penfield, NY) registered seven saves to get his seventh shutout of the season. The Hawks offense was lead by junior Joseph Fabain (Selden, NY) who tallied 4 shots to lead SUNY New Paltz to a total of 14 shots.
SUNY New Paltz Men’s Soccer team returns to action tomorrow when they face off against conference rival Geneseo.
