SUNY New Paltz Participates on Expert Marketing Research Panel
On Wednesday, May 31, 2005, Barbara Petruzzelli and Ted Clark participated as members of an expert marketing research panel at the monthly meeting of the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Business Marketing Association (BMA). The panel consisted of Renee Crystal, a marketing consultant, Barbara Petruzzelli, Assistant Director of Sojourner Truth Library and Professor Ted Clark. Barbara discussed many of the resources available to businesses on the Internet and through the college’s library and the Mid Hudson Library system. Professor Clark discussed the latest software available for marketing research data analysis and Ms. Crystal provided an overview of the field of Business-to-Business marketing research. Over 40 members attended the meeting, held at Marcel’s restaurant in Kingston, and a lengthy Q&A session followed the presentation by the panel.
The President of the BMA, Bob Kurtz, commented “The market research program drew the highest attendance since the chapter’s inception 18 months ago.” Several attendees stated that the volume of information provided by the panel members impressed them and they were surprised to learn of the resources offered by the federal, state and local governments to assist businesses in market research and analysis.
