WEB JUNKIE TO BRING A LITTLE COLLEGE HUMOR TO CAMPUS: Jakob Lodwick of CollegeHumor.com to speak at SUNY New Paltz event
NEW PALTZ — The SUNY New Paltz Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) announced today that Jakob Lodwick, developer of the popular Web site, CollegeHumor.com, will speak on campus on Tuesday, April 19, 2005. Lodwick, 23, originally from Baltimore, is the main developer of CollegeHumor.com. He joined the Web site in April 2000 and is one of four main staff members who run the operations of the Web site. Lodwick is also the co-founder and current programmer of Vimeo.com, a site for sharing video clips and movie creation. Lodwick had help from his three staff members in creating BustedTees.com in March 2004, a Web site devoted to unique T-shirt designs. Lodwick graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2003 and moved to Tribeca, New York City, in 2004 where he currently resides. In his spare time, Lodwick’s hobbies include directing music videos, freestyle rapping and “bedroom music production.” Lodwick recently appeared in last week’s episode of VH1’s Best Week Ever silently onscreen for ten seconds. This event will take place on Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at 8:30 pm in the Lecture Center 102. The event is open to all members of the SUNY New Paltz community. Student Association and the Department of Communication and Media sponsor this PRSSA event. CollegeHumor.com is a Web site established as a refuge for not only students of all academic levels, but a place for people across the world to go for a laugh. CollegeHumor.com was started in 1999 by two friends from Baltimore. The site is a place to find jokes, links, movies, pictures, stories, funny forwards and silly photographs. The SUNY New Paltz Public Relations Student Society of America was started in this year, and holds meetings every Tuesday evening at 8:30 p.m. in CSB 54.
