Hot Shooting Leads Plattsburgh Past Hawks
PLATTSBURGH, NY — Led by five players in double figures, and a 10-of-17 shooting effort from three-point range, Plattsburgh defeated SUNY New Paltz 93-72 in the regular season finale for both teams.
Curtis Smith led the Cardinals (16-9, 10-6) with 18 points and seven assists. Plattsburgh was 21-of-35 from the field in the first half in opening up a 48-36 lead at the intermission.
SUNY New Paltz (9-16, 3-13) received a game-high 22 points from junior guard Maurice Douglas (Brooklyn, NY). Douglas, who was 9-of-14 from the field, went on to post a double-double finishing with 10 rebounds.
Sophomores Amseshem Foluke-Henderson (Jamiaca, NY) and Matt Irwin (Brooklyn, NY) each added 17 points for the Hawks.
