Hawks Sweep UNH To Extend Winning Streak

NEW PALTZ, NY — Four players recorded 10 or more kills and SUNY New Paltz hit .350 in a three-game sweep of the University of New Haven this evening.

The Hawks are now 5-5 on the season and have won three consecutive matches. The Hawks took the opening game 30-23 and followed that up with a hard-fought 36-34 win in game two. SUNY New Paltz completed the sweep with a 30-28 triumph in the third game.

Sophomore Joshua Spiro (Island Park, NY) was flawless in the in three games with 13 kills, eight blocks and a .765 hitting percentage. Senior Mike LaRocco (Hauppauge, NY) contributed 13 kills finished with a .360 hitting percentage. Senior Chris Gange (Halfmoon, NY) and junior Ryan Bullard (Smithtown, NY) also finished in double figures with 13 and 10 kills respectively. Bullard also added a match-high 10 digs.
