SUNY New Paltz Women’s Soccer Team Closes Out Season with 3-0 loss to Skidmore

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — The SUNY New Paltz women’s soccer team closed out the 2003 season with a 3-0 loss to Skidmore College. The Hawks finished with a record of 3-13-2 while Skidmore ended their season at 6-7-1.

Sophomore Morgan Cadwell (Madison, CT) scored an unassisted goal at the 15:19 mark to give the Thoroughbreds a 1-0 lead. Skidmore maintained their 1-0 lead until Cari Dugan (Islip, NY) notched a goal just over five minutes into the second half to give the Thoroughbreds a 2-0 edge. Freshman Aimee Marceau (Colchester, VT) closed out the scoring with a goal at the 79:58 mark off a pass from senior Ariel Higgins-Steel (Ashby, MA).

New Paltz was outshot 21-1 but junior goalkeeper Maggie Fenton (East Meadow, NY) kept the game close with nine saves.

Scoring: S-Morgan Caldwell (unassisted) 15:19. S-Cari Dugan (unassisted) 50:37. S-Aimee Marceau (Ariel Higgins-Steele) 79:58.
