Mount St. Mary Defeats New Paltz 6-2
NEWBURGH, NY – — Janelle Meyer pitched a complete game four-hitter to help Mount St. Mary to a 6-2 win over SUNY New Paltz this afternoon.
The Blue Knights pushed home two in the second and four in the third to build a 6-0 lead after three innings.
Freshman Kerrianne Lynch (Hopewell Junction, NY) had an RBI in fifth inning that drove home senior Katie Monahan (Port Jefferson Station, NY) to put New Paltz (0-10) on the board. The Hawks added another run in the six to make it 6-2 but couldn’t pull any closer.
Senior Jen Born (Walworth, NY) went the distance for New Paltz and allowed five hits and three earned runs. She fell to 0-4 on the season.
New Paltz will play a doubleheader against RPI on Friday (Apr.4)at Tony Williams Park in Highland, NY.
