Student-Athlete Faculty Recognition Dinner Held

NEW PALTZ, NY – — The first ever Student-Athlete Faculty Recognition Dinner took place on March 3 in The College Terrace. The event was held to honor the 32 New Paltz student-athletes who earned a grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester, and the faculty members who helped them achieve their success.

The student-athletes extended invitations to faculty members who have been supportive of their academic and athletic endeavors. The faculty members that were in attendance were Dr. Glenn Geher (psychology), Dr. Joel Neuman (business administration), Dr. Douglas Maynard (psychology), Rafael Saavedra (foreign language), Rachel Rigolino (English), Joel Lefkowitz (political science), Jon Shart (geography), and Dr. Elizabeth Hester (communication disorders).

In addition, Dean of the School of Business Hadi Salavitabar took part in the dinner along with Vice President for Student Affairs L. David Rooney, Vice President for Enrollment Management David Eaton and Assistant Director and Controller for Campus Auxiliary Services Bruce DuBois.

The Student Athletic Advisory Committee sponsored the event.
