Men’s Tennis Team Drops Season Opener to William Jewell
ORLANDO, FL – — The SUNY New Paltz men’s tennis team fell 5-2 in its season opener to William Jewell College this afternoon in Orlando, Florida. The Hawks picked up two points in the singles competition. Junior Brad Breakstone (Mount Kisco, NY) was a three-set winner at number three and junior Bobby Calise (East Islip, NY) won by a default at number four. Calise also teamed with sophomore Nick Finger (Glenmont, NY) to give New Paltz an 8-6 win at number two doubles. William Jewel however took the other two doubles matches to earn the point.
The Hawks will return to action tomorrow afternoon against Grinnell at 2:30 p.m.

Doubles #1 Vargas/Jones (WJ) defeated Tiran/Breakstone (NP) 8-4. #2 Calise/Finger (NP) defeated Johnson/Andrew Newell (WJ) 8-6. #3 Osborne/Jared Douglas (WJ) defeated Greg Cichon/Brandon Goodman (NP) 8-0.
