New Paltz Gets Second Win Over Geneseo
GENESEO, NY — The SUNY New Paltz men’s basketball team got their second victory of the season over the Blue Knights of Geneseo Friday 69-55.
The Hawks improve to 3-5 in the SUNYAC and 5-11 overall while the Knights fall to 9-8 and 3-5 in conference play.
New Paltz bolted out to an 11-0 lead in the first half and led 32-26 at the break before outscoring the Knights 37-29 in the second half to pull away.
New Paltz had four players in doubles figures led by Matt Daudier’s (South Floral Park, NY) 16 points. Ben Davey (Andover, NJ) added 14 points, Joe Bell (Albany, NY) had 13, and Jonathan Towles (Jamaica, NY) contributed 12.
The Hawks will try to make it a 2-0 weekend Saturday as they battle Brockport at 4:00 p.m.
