Men’s Basketball Team Falls 78-76 to Fredonia

NEW PALTZ – — Senior forward Dada London (Jamaica, NY) hit a running one-hander with four seconds remaining to give Fredonia a 78-76 win over SUNY New Paltz this evening at Elting Gym.

The Hawks took a 74-71 lead with 4:30 remaining following a layup by junior guard Jayvard Smith (Hempstead, NY). With the game tied at 75, junior center Steve Ott (New Paltz, NY) made 1-of-2 at the line give New Paltz a 76-75 lead. London then made one of two free throws with 1:43 to play to tie the game at 76.

London had 15 points and five rebounds for Fredonia who improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the SUNYAC. Freshman center Nate Sanzo (Westfield, NY) led all scorers with 16 points on 8-of-8 shooting.

SUNY New Paltz (1-4, 0-1) was led by senior guard Ben Davey (Andover, NJ) who had 15 points and five assists. Junior guard Matt Daudier (S. Floral Park, NY) contributed 12 points for the Hawks who will host conference rival Buffalo State tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.
