Men’s Tennis Continues Onslaught
NEWBURGH — New Paltz men’s tennis continued their domination over their opponents Tuesday as they shut out Mount Saint Mary 9- 0. Over their last four matches the Hawks have now beaten their opposition by a combined score of 34-2.
Against the Blue Knights, #1 Ed Paulinski (Floral Park, NY) and #2 Bobby Calise (East Islip, NY) got by their opponents in straight sets. Paulinski won 6-3, 7-6 and Calise won 6- 4, 6-3. The Hawks’ #3, #4, #5, and #6 singles players battered their opponents, surrendering just five total games between them. #3 Brian Palmenteri (Howard Beach, NY) won 6-1, 6-0, #4 Bradley Breakstone (Mount Kisco, NY) was a winner 6-1, 6-1, #5 Josh Greenspan (North Babylon, NY) won 6-0, 6-0, and #6 Brandon Goodman (New Paltz, NY) won 6-1, 6- 1.
In doubles play, Paulinski and Calise won with ease 8-2, and Palmenteri and David Bridglall (Bronx, NY) won 8-5. A third doubles win was awarded to the Hawks by default.
New Paltz looks to continue its winning ways Wednesday at Manhattanville beginning at 3:30pm.
