Men’s Basketball Slips to 0-2 in SUNYAC
NEW PALTZ — The men’s basketball team lost its second straight conference game Saturday against the visiting Bears from Potsdam 72-60. The Hawks had lost earlier in the week to the Red Dragons of Oneonta.
The Bears shot the ball well the entire game hitting over half of their shots from the floor but turned it up a notch in the second half hitting 61% from the field and 80% from 3-point land. The Hawks had a very balanced scoring attack with five players scoring in double figures. Steve Ott (New Paltz, NY) and Ben Davey (Andover, NJ) had 12 points apiece while Birchell Glenn (Queens, NY) added 11 and Dan Cahill (Lawrenceville, NJ) and Danny Goldberg (New Rochelle, NY) each had 10.
New Paltz doesn’t hit the hardwood again until January 8th at Elting Gym against Brockport. The Golden Eagles are the defending conference champions.
