Women’s Volleyball Goes 1-3 at Oswego

OSWEGO — At the Oswego State Volleyball Invitational, the New Paltz Women’s Volleyball Team went 1-3 making their record 6-19 for the season.

New Paltz started strong in their first match defeating St. Lawrence in four games (25-30, 30-27, 30-13, 30-28). In the second match of the evening the Hawks split the first two games against Geneseo before eventually falling in four games (10-30, 30-19, 15-30, 28-30). On Saturday New Paltz lost to Oswego (14-30, 30-22, 22-30, 23-30) and Oneonta (16- 30, 22-30, 30-26, 17-30) in four games each.

Over the weekend, Crystal Smith (Westhampton, NY) had 42 kills, 5 blocks, 39 digs, 4 aces, Evelyn Paredes (Bronx, NY) had 23 kills, 15 blocks, and 11 digs, Gisselle Medina (Brentwood, NY) had 118 assists, 32 digs, 4 kills and 4 blocks, and Heidi Dippel (Levittown, NY) had 23 kills, 12 blocks, and 7 digs.

Women’s Volleyball plays again Wednesday when they travel to Bard for a 7:00 match.
