PDQ Manufacturing President Joins SUNY New Paltz Business Advisory Council
NEW PALTZ — Taylor N. Thompson, chair of the Business Advisory Council for the SUNY New Paltz School of Business, is pleased to announce the Council’s newest member — Scott Hutchins, president of PDQ Manufacturing. He will serve on the Council’s Technology Committee.
“Scott Hutchins is a dynamic, young businessman committed to improving the quality of life in the Hudson Valley. His experience and expertise will greatly enhance the Council,” said Thompson.
Under Hutchins’ leadership, PDQ has grown from a small metalworking company to a progressive manufacturer of sheet metal enclosures. His work from 1995 to the present has resulted in PDQ becoming a manufacturer of electronic enclosures for the high end server, data communication, and telecommunication industries. Hutchins has developed a worldwide customer base and expanded the company into two facilities, which has provided the opportunity to learn how to operate satellite facilities for future worldwide expansions utilizing Internet tools for communication.
A graduate of the University of Vermont, Hutchins is a member of the American Society for Quality Control and the Society for Manufacturing Engineers. He is the president of the board of directors for the Council of Industry.
Hutchins lives in Rhinebeck with his wife and four children.
