Hansel and Gretel Puppet Show Opens Saturdays Are For Kids Series at New Paltz Summer Repertory Theatre
NEW PALTZ — New Paltz Summer Repertory Theatre will present a puppet show version of Hansel and Gretel performed by Vane & Company Puppets on Saturday, July 7. The performance begins at 11am in McKenna Theatre, SUNY New Paltz.
Hansel and Gretel is the first offering in the Saturdays Are For Kids series which also includes a musical revue by The Broadway Kids on July 14 and 21, and the play Monkey Magic on July 27 and 28.
Children age 5 and up will enjoy the accessible charm of handmade characters in Hansel and Gretel. They bring to life a story that has been part of children’s literature for generations. The performance lasts between 45-50 minutes, and closes with a demonstration and a question and answer session.
Vane & Company is based in Accord, New York. Puppeteer Amy Vane has brought her delightful productions to area schools and libraries throughout New York State. The company has also played at theatres such as the Lenny Suib Puppet Theater in New York City, The Cape May Convention Center, The Tower Theater in South Hadley, Massachusetts, and the Center for Performing Arts at Rhinebeck.
Hansel and Gretel is performed in McKenna Theatre, SUNY New Paltz on Saturday, July 7. Performance begins at 11:00am and all seats are $6.
