Women’s Lacrosse Falls To Nationally-Ranked Cortland
CORTLAND — Jeanna Angotti had six goals and one assist and Brooke VandeWalker added four goals and four assists to lead Cortland past New Paltz, 23-1, in SUNYAC women’s lacrosse on Tuesday afternoon.
Cortland (6-1 overall, 4-0 SUNYAC), ranked 12th in the latest Brine/Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association National Division III Poll, has now won four straight SUNYAC matches by a combined margin of 94-6.
Katie Sharp scored the (0-7 overall, 0-5 SUNYAC) Hawks’ lone goal just 23 seconds after the half, to move back into sole possession of the New Paltz season scoring lead (10 goals). Adrian Grasso made seven saves in a losing effort.
New Paltz hosts Manhattanville for a 7 p.m. match on Wednesday at Kingston’s Dietz Stadium.
