Hawks Win Again
NEWBURGH — Alesha Peimer had two goals and an assist to lead SUNY New Paltz past Mount St. Mary, 6-0, in women’s soccer on Monday at Cronomer Hill Park.
Kathryn Bart added a goal and an assist and Corinne Caufield had two assists as the Hawks improved to 3-1 with the victory. Martha Holland, Jessica Nadolny and Kate Roussel accounted for New Paltz’s other three goals.
New Paltz outshot the (0-1) Knights, 25-8, and held a 4-3 advantage on corner kicks. Laura Neander (five saves) and Alex Dorman (one save) combined to record the shutout, the Hawks’ third in four games this season.
New Paltz opens its State University of New York Athletic Conference season at 4 p.m. on Friday at home against SUNY Plattsburgh.
