EIGHTH ANNUAL GRADUATE SYMPOSIUM TO BE HELD AT SUNY NEW PALTZ

NEW PALTZ — The theme for the Eighth Annual Graduate Symposium at the State University of New York at New Paltz will be “Representations of Academic Life in Literature.” The symposium will be held Thursday, April 18.

The afternoon session, which begins at 2 p.m. in the Jacobson Faculty Tower Lounge, will feature graduate student papers.

Two alumni of the English department’s master’s degree program, Irene Nunnari and Arnold Schmidt, have been invited to present papers during the evening session which begins at 8 p.m. in the Hopfer Alumni Center.

Nunnari, a faculty member at Mount Saint Mary College, will read “Graziano and Holofernes: Two Academics on the Comic Stage,” and Schmidt, a faculty member at the California State University at Stanislaus, will present, “Wordsworth, Cambridge, and the French Revolution: Ideological Conflicts and (Dis)continuities.”

The Graduate Symposium is sponsored by The College Foundation at New Paltz and the Department of English.

Both sessions are free and open to the public.
