Associate Provost Laurel M. Garrick Duhaney Assumes New Responsibilities
As associate provost for strategic planning and assessment, Laurel M. Garrick Duhaney recently coordinated the College’s activities for reaccreditation by the Middle States Commission of Higher Education (MSCHE), resulting in the College’s reaccreditation in June 2021. This summer, the College added the oversight of program-specific accreditation to her portfolio as well as leadership for the Center for International Programs (CIP). As a liaison to the General Education Board, Garrick Duhaney also now works with newly appointed Associate Provost Shala Mills on the College’s implementation of SUNY’s revised General Education Framework, scheduled for completion in 2023.
In addition to her work with MSCHE and newly appointed responsibilities, Garrick Duhaney provides support for the Strategic Planning and Assessment Council (SPAC) regarding institutional strategic planning and institutional effectiveness assessment and oversees undergraduate and graduate academic program reviews. Previously serving as associate provost and dean of the graduate school, Garrick Duhaney was appointed associate provost for strategic planning and assessment in August of 2017. In this role, she has been a leader in the College’s assessment efforts and improved connections between assessment, reaccreditation, and strategic planning.
