Office of Strategic Planning & Assessment Managing Program Reviews
Program reviews, previously managed by the Provost’s Office, will now be handled by the Office of Strategic Planning & Assessment. Program reviews examine, assess, and strengthen the quality of academic programs. The key components of a program review include the self-study, external review with a written report, and a plan for ongoing improvement. Program reviews at SUNY New Paltz are conducted every five to seven years. Exceptions to this five to seven year cycle include programs that follow guidelines of accreditation by specific discipline-specific organizations. Resources that are useful for the execution of departmental program reviews can be found on the Strategic Planning & Assessment website.
