Communication, Digital Media & Journalism students inducted in Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society for 2025
The Departments of Communication and Digital Media & Journalism at SUNY New Paltz inducted 41 students who demonstrated academic excellence throughout the college career into the Lambda Pi Eta (LPE) honor society during a ceremony held May 8 at the Coykendall Science Building Auditorium.
Each of these students achieved a GPA of 3.5 in their major, and an overall GPA of 3.25, to qualify for membership in the New Paltz chapter of the national honor society recognizing academic achievement among students with communications-related majors. Presenting this year’s inductees with certificates and special tassels to be worn at Commencement at the ceremony were Communication and Digital Media & Journalism Internship Coordinator Nancy Heiz, who serves as the New Paltz chapter of LPE’s president, and Assistant Professor of Communication Lauren Mark.
Lambda Pi Eta is the official communication honor society of the National Communication Association (NCA). It was founded in 1985 at the University of Arkansas with the purpose of recognizing, fostering and rewarding outstanding scholastic achievement in the field of communication.
