The New York State Governor’s Office of Employee Relations (GOER) has extended agreements with all employee unions on an extension of the upcoming annual leave expiration date.
All unused excess annual leave can now be carried through Dec. 31, 2023.
This extension applies to all SUNY New Paltz employees, including management/confidential (M/C) employees, who would otherwise forfeit unused annual leave at the end of 2022.
This move further extends an accommodation that was first agreed upon in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. That initial policy was extended once in fall 2021, and is now extended again.
