Get boosted before cold season! New Paltz students can get the new, “omicron-tailored” COVID-19 vaccine at the Health Center

The Student Health Service has a supply of the recently approved, bivalent COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by Pfizer, and all New Paltz students are invited to get boosted at no cost before the fall/winter cold and flu season begins, while supply lasts.

Students can make an appointment by calling the Student Health Service at (845) 257-3400.

Please call during business hours, Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., and be prepared to provide your name, phone number and student ID number when you call.

The College strongly encourages students to take advantage of this free, convenient on-campus opportunity to protect yourself against COVID-19 as the cold weather season sets in.

Pfizer’s bivalent booster is FDA-authorized for anyone over the age of 12. You are eligible to get this booster if you are at least two months removed from your last COVID-19 vaccine/booster dose. It does not matter what kind of vaccination you previously received.

These new, bivalent vaccines provide added protection against COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant, the most common strain of the virus currently in circulation.

More information about COVID-19, including directions for what to do if you feel sick, is available at the Student Health Service website.
