Spring 2022 COVID-19 Info: On-campus testing schedule and policies

This is just one of our COVID-19 policies for the spring 2022 semester.

To view a comprehensive summary of our policies, please visit this link.

Beginning Jan. 31, 2022, SUNY New Paltz will conduct regular COVID-19 surveillance testing much in the same way we did in fall 2021, with one significant change: an exemption for those who get their booster.

The key principles of our surveillance testing protocol in spring 2022 are:

All unvaccinated students and employees must get a test every week they are on campus.

Students and employees who have their first vaccination but no booster must participate in periodic testing, roughly once every five weeks (see below for schedules with guidance on when you should test).

Anyone who gets their COVID-19 booster and uploads to the COVID-19 Profile at my.newpaltz.edu will not be required to participate in surveillance testing (though they may still opt into testing at any time).

Everyone, whether vaccinated or not, is strongly encouraged to get tested if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, and to test three days after an exposure to someone with COVID-19.

Those who have a recent COVID-19 infection should not test for 90 days from the date of diagnosis.

Testing is available at Awosting Hall, Monday – Friday, via our partners at Enzo Labs. Use this link to schedule an appointment.

Testing is also available at a New York State-run site at College Terrace. Learn more and make an appointment here. The state-run site is open to all members of the public. Students and employees may choose to get a test at that state-run site, but please be advised that you will need to manually upload your test results to my.newpaltz.edu.

Surveillance Testing Schedule for Vaccinated Students & Employees

If you are vaccinated but not boosted, you will be required to get a COVID-19 test periodically during the spring 2022 semester.

As we did in fall 2021, we are asking students and employees to test according to their major and their bargaining unit, respectively, so we don’t overwhelm our testing site with high demand and long lines.

If you are vaccinated and not boosted, please try to get your surveillance tests done according to the schedules below:

How to get an on-campus COVID-19 test

ENZO Labs testing is by appointment only, at least 24 hours in advance. No same-day appointments will be accepted. Please use this link to schedule your appointment.

If you have not already registered an account with ENZO Labs, you will need to do so before making an appointment. You can use this link to sign up for ENZO Labs testing. This only needs to be done once (and most students and employees have already done so).

Those who test at the campus-run testing site at Awosting Hall and swipe their campus ID cards will have their test results automatically synced to their COVID-19 Profiles.
