Sign up by Dec. 3 to donate to a cause of your choice through the 2022 SEFA Campaign

Employees who are interested in making charitable donations through payroll deduction can now enrollment in the New York State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) Campaign for the 2022 season.

Through SEFA, New York State employees can arrange for convenient, automatic donations to their choice of more than 1,400 nonprofit organizations, from the local to the global.

Last year, SUNY New Paltz employees raised more than $23,000 for charitable organizations, retaining our status as the highest grossing SEFA campaign for the Sullivan/Ulster and Westchester areas.

The deadline to pledge for the 2022 SEFA Campaign is Friday, Dec. 3, 2021.

There are two ways to sign up:

Digital option: Use this link to sign in or create a new account via SEFA’s secure online portal.

Paper option: Download the SEFA Pledge Form, fill it out and return it to Gerry Torrone in the Office of Student Accounts, Wooster Hall room 123.

Please note: The digital option only accepts payroll deduction pledges. If you prefer to make a donation by check, please use the paper pledge form to elect that option.

Participating organizations (all of which have 501c3 charitable status) represent causes as diverse as animal welfare, children’s welfare, environment and climate, health and medical research, human and civil rights, and social services, among others.

Contributors have the option to give to just one organization or to distribute your gift across as many charities as you like, which can save time for those who choose to support multiple causes.

Giving through SEFA also provides extra privacy protection: Because donations are made in lump sums through the Appeal, individual donors’ personal information is never shared with receiving organizations.

More information from the SUNY New Paltz SEFA Committee is available here.
