New York State publishes Planning for Option Transfer Guide for 2022

The Planning for Option Transfer Guide for 2022 is now available to help state employees start planning for benefits enrollments for 2022.

Among the programs detailed in the guide are the Option Transfer, the Pre-Tax Contribution Program, the Flexible Spending Account, and the Productivity Enhancement Program.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Open Enrollment will run from Nov. 2-29, 2021

This program consists of three important benefits for employees: the Health Care Spending Account, the Dependent Care Advantage Account, and the Adoption Advantage Account.

Eligible employees may choose to enroll in any or all of the accounts (eligibility varies by bargaining unit). Please watch your physical mail for an informational flyer.

UPDATE: New York State has raised the contribution limit for the Health Care Spending Account to $2,850. People who have already enrolled can still change their maximum until the deadline (Nov. 29 at 10 p.m.).

The Productivity Enhancement Program Enrollment Period will run from Nov. 2-29, 2021

This program allows you to exchange previously accrued leave in return for a credit to be applied toward your NYSHIP premium. More details about PEP enrollment are available here.

Other dates and deadlines will be announced soon

The dates for Option Transfer and the Pre-Tax Contribution Program (PTCP) Election period will run concurrently but have not yet been announced. The dates will be made available once rates have been set.
