COVID-19 If/Then: What happens if someone isn’t following our indoor mask policy?

The College has put together a new series of “If/Then” scenario walkthroughs to help our community better understand pandemic practices and protocols.

If you see someone unmasked indoors while on campus …

Then our community can … Ask them to wear their mask, if you feel comfortable doing so. You may remind them that this policy is in place for the protection of our entire community, or refer them to signage posted in all campus buildings clarifying our masking policy. You may even offer to provide them with a mask, if available.

If students persist in refusing to wear a mask in class or in other indoor spaces, faculty can report this behavior to the Director of Student Conduct by “raising a flag” in Starfish.

Then the unmasked person should … Wear your mask! It’s a requirement for all students, faculty and staff in indoor spaces on campus this fall. More than that, it’s a small, simple way to contribute to our campuswide effort to protect the entire community.
