College earns multiple awards for excellence in SUNY communications competition

The “Greetings” postcard series was a 2021 SUNY CUAD award winner in the Excellence in Print and Design: Single-Page Publication category

SUNY New Paltz won two Best of Category awards and five additional Judges Citations in the 2021 SUNY Council for University Advancement (SUNYCUAD) Awards for Excellence, which recognize the best of the best in creative communications, events, photography, writing, advertising and design from across the state university system.

The College took home best-of honors in the Excellence in Print and Design: Single-Page Publication category for a series of “Greetings from SUNY New Paltz” postcards, and in the Excellence in Print and Design: Multi-Page Publication category for the Case Statement for Soaring Higher – The Campaign for New Paltz.

Soaring Higher was also recognized with a Judges Citation in the Excellence in Events: Special Event Category.

Additional Judges Citations went to:

New Paltz: The Alumni Magazine earned recognition in both the Excellence in Print and Design: Magazine and the Excellence in Digital Media: Individual Webpage Design categories

International Students: In New Paltz During COVID-19,” a short film that tells the story of graduate student Madhulika Panidepu ’21g (Computer Science), who was unable to return home to Vijayawada, India, when coronavirus came to New York, was cited in the Excellence in Digital Media: Video category

Athletic Trainers lead Contact Tracing at SUNY New Paltz,” an article about the role played by Allison Lindsay and Bryan Lurie in the College’s pandemic response, earned a judges citation in the Excellence in Writing: News Writing category.
