Middle States Monday, Vol. 6: The Virtual Campus Visit is this week!

Middle States Monday is a series of announcements and information that will run in the Daily Digest to help students, faculty and staff prepare for our Middle States Reaccreditation Virtual Visit, scheduled for March 24 – 26, 2021.

After a nearly two-year self-study process, New Paltz is entering the second phase of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education reaccreditation review: the on-campus visit by a team of professors and staff assembled by Middle States from peer institutions.

Because of the pandemic, the eight-person team of peer evaluators will visit the campus virtually this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, March 24, 25 and 26.

The Middle States team will meet with several students, faculty and staff to learn more about who we are as a campus community. We hope you will meet with members of the Middle States team to help us tell the New Paltz story.

An Open Forum with Team members for Faculty and Staff will be held on Thursday, March 25, from 2 – 3 p.m.

An Open Forum with Team Members for Students will be held on Thursday, March 25, from 4 – 5 p.m.

Please use the links above to join the meetings when they begin. There are instructions below for joining the Open Forum and participating in breakout sessions.

From MSCHE Steering Committee Co-Chairs Laurel M. Garrick Duhaney and Ken Goldstein:

The Self-Study captures the many impressive and ongoing achievements across campus, and highlights many of the qualities and strengths of SUNY New Paltz, but we know that behind all of the campus initiatives and success are people, the members of our community.  And so we want to acknowledge all that you do here on campus. We thank all of the individuals and teams who have participated in the self-study process. We call special attention to the Steering Committee, members of the Working Groups, the Editorial Team, Design Services, and the Logistics and Technical Team for their invaluable contributions. Thank you all, in advance, for meeting with members of the Middle States team next week.

We look forward to hearing the team’s initial report on Friday, March 26, at 9 a.m. That initial report will be delivered via Webex meeting, accessible at the same link used for the open forums.
