Dear fellow students,
We write to you with a few updates from your Student Association Executive Board. We hope that now that we are a few weeks into the semester you are all finding any balance possible during this time. We know that this will continue to be another challenging semester and want to remind you all that we are here to support all students and advocate to uplift your voices.
The first update is we have three newly elected e-board members this semester. We have welcomed Jaidiver Morales as our Vice President of Academic Affairs and Governance. He is responsible for advocating for any and all academic concerns and consistently meets with the academic leaders of our institution. We have also welcomed Dershanel Jno Lewis as our Vice President of Programming who leads our programming board and SA Productions. Lastly, we have Paige Rosko as our new Council of Organizations Chair. She will be taking over in leading bi-weekly Council meetings (Mondays at 7pm) and help manage our clubs and organizations.
The second update is Higher Education Action week is next week 2/15- 2/19! This is a great opportunity to meet (virtually) with your elected officials to advocate for students and voice the need for more funding for our university system. The deadline to register to attend this event and advocate for your fellow students is Thursday, February 11th at 11:59PM. If you have questions feel free to contact Eric Wood (ewood@nypirg.org).
We also wanted to mention if you are a student who frequents on campus and is in need of feminine products at no cost, stop by the SA office for a bag with all organic, no dyes, 100% cotton, products. We are located in the Student Union Building, 2nd Floor, office 210.
