Clarification for faculty on students’ loss of access to in-person classes due to non-compliance with COVID-19 mandates

As a reminder, per the Chancellor’s universal sanctions, which were mandated to go into effect Oct. 1, students who do not comply with mandatory testing or health screenings requirements will lose their card access.

Affected students receive an email message explaining how to remedy the situation.

Students who lose access to in-person classes may ask for accommodation from individual faculty until they remedy the situation (up to a week for testing or three days for a health screening), but just as with other judicial actions that remove a student from in-person classes, such accommodations are at the faculty member’s discretion.
