Action Required from Federal Work Study Supervisors

SUNY New Paltz is publishing important messages and news updates related to the College’s response to COVID-19 on the campus news website. Use this link to view all these posts in one place.

The request below was shared on March 27.

Campus community members can view updates at the Coronavirus Information and Coronavirus FAQs webpages, which are being updated regularly as this situation evolves.

Following up on VP of Administration and Finance Michelle Halstead’s March 24 email, I am reaching out in order for us to determine which work study employees will be working remotely for the remainder of the semester. As this information is time sensitive, if you could reply back to me or Cecily Brown in Payroll (brownc@newpaltz.edu) by Monday, March 30th it would be most appreciated.

Please respond to the following questions:

  • Do you supervise a work study employee who will work remotely during the spring 2020 semester?
  • If you answered no, was remote work made available to the student employee and the employee declined?

*A separate email from Payroll will be sent to individual supervisors with instructions on completing the NYS Telecommuting Pilot Program Application for any work study employee who will be working remotely.
