Holiday shopping, ✔: Fine arts students will host clay, metal and print sales

Campus community members looking to snag unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for friends and family can do so while also supporting the creative endeavors of SUNY New Paltz student artists, with three holiday art sales on the calendar from Dec. 3 – 6 and on Dec. 11.

First up is the Clay Club student organization’s annual sale of ceramic works designed with a blend of ornament and utility in mind. Original pieces on sale include mugs, bowls, plates and pitchers, as well as earrings, pins and other pieces of flair.

The Clay Club sale will take place in the Sojourner Truth Library lobby area from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, Tuesday, Dec. 4 and Wednesday, Dec. 5.

Jewelry lovers will want to drop by the handmade metals sale, where BFA and MFA students in the College’s internationally-recognized Metal program will be offering rings, earrings and necklaces in a variety of materials.

The Metal and Jewelry sale will be open on Dec. 5 and 6, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m., also in the Sojourner Truth Library lobby.

Any experienced holiday gift-giver will know to include a thoughtful card to go with these gifts, and this is where the printmaking program has you covered.

Students in the Print Club will be vending hand-printed holiday cards, bookmarks, marbled fabric, t-shirts, patches, gift tags and original prints by undergraduate and graduate students in printmaking.

The Print Club sale will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Location TBD at time of publication).
