International Business students visit Presidio for alumnus-led presentation

Students and young professionals of Latin American origin attending SUNY New Paltz through the International Business School (IBS) of São Paulo summer certificate program got an opportunity to tour Presidio, an information technology company based in New York City.

The tour and presentation was led by Sandy Brown ’92 (Marketing), a New Paltz alumnus who currently serves as director of carrier sales at Presidio. Brown led an active demonstration and discussion with the IBS students about Presidio’s business model and his experiences applying his business education to reach his career goals.

The visit was coordinated in partnership with Associate Professor Daniel Shen, who teaches a course in Marketing and Value Management for IBS summer students.

This program is the result of a unique partnership between the College’s Institute for International Business (IIB) and the International Business School of São Paulo, Brazil. It offers an immersive learning experience for students hoping to attain knowledge of business concepts while also learning about English language and American culture. Courses are taught by experienced faculty in topics including corporate financial management, marketing, project management, strategic management and business English.
