College mourns passing of dedicated English faculty Donna Baumler

It is with great sadness that the College shares news of the passing of Donna Baumler, long-time adjunct instructor in the English Department. She passed away on April 6 after a prolonged struggle with cancer.

A New Paltz resident, Donna was born in 1959. She taught at SUNY New Paltz for more than 20 years and was a graduate of the English master’s program. She came to the College in 1995 as a teaching assistant after receiving her bachelor’s degree from Pace University.

A dedicated teacher and the author of several works of fiction, she will be greatly missed by her colleagues and students.
