Food Marketing Summit returns to New Paltz April 5

The School of Business announces the return of the Food Marketing Summit at SUNY New Paltz, Wednesday, April 5, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The 2017 Food Marketing Summit will be a free public conference designed to bring together leaders from various areas of the food industry to discuss current trends, common challenges and smart solutions.

It is a benchmark measure of the growth of food marketing courses at New Paltz, highlighting student engagement and the opportunities being created through collaboration between the School of Business and its more than 200 partners in the regional and national food industry.

“At the time of last year’s Summit, we had a handful of companies engaging with us on campus and some decent student interest,” said food marketing Lecturer Russell Zwanka. “Fast forward a year and we are up to more than 100 students who have taken food marketing courses; more than 30 students who have interviewed with partner companies for professional opportunities; and many more students who have participated in case competitions, conferences, site visits and other industry events.”

The line-up includes panelists from all aspects of the food industry (retail, wholesale, consumer goods, food marketing, etc.) and two students of New Paltz’s food marketing courses:

  • Tom Urtz, Shop Rite Supermarkets
  • Heidi Reale, Sparkshoppe
  • Kevin Coupe, Morningnewsbeat
  • Keith Frosceno, C&S Wholesale Grocers
  • Mike Deranleau, Kelloggs
  • Stephen Crouchley, Ahold Delhaize
  • Ema Savic ’17 (Marketing, International Business)
  • Tina Lloyd ’17 (Marketing)

All are welcome to attend this year’s Food Marketing Summit on April 5 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in Lecture Center room 100. Off-campus guests are asked to kindly RSVP to Russell Zwanka at zwankar@zmail.newpaltz.edu.
