Tax Practitioner Institute returns to SUNY New Paltz on Dec. 2

The next convening of the SUNY New Paltz Tax Practitioner Institute will take place on Friday, Dec. 2 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. in the Student Union, Room 62/63.

The Tax Practitioner Institute connects local tax prep professionals with representatives from the IRS and NYS Department of Taxation & Finance, keeping them up to speed on changes to the tax code and helping them meet industry requirements for professional development.

Check-in and breakfast will be from 8:00 – 8:30. The day’s program will feature information on tax updates and other timely topics. There will be opportunities for questions and answers. The complete agenda and number of CPE credits earned will be announced shortly.

The Tax Practitioner Institute is the flagship service offered by The Business Institute, which draws on the expertise of the students, faculty and staff of the New Paltz School of Business to offer training, continuing education and professional development, research and business advising to Hudson Valley entrepreneurs.

“The original concept of The Business Institute was to link faculty, students and the business community,” said A. Rief Kanan, director of The Business Institute. “Many working professionals have requirements for a certain number of continuing education hours to keep up their credentials. We focus on that as an area of value for practitioners.”
