Joel Mumper, senior programmer and analyst at SUNY New Paltz, was named a recipient of the SUNY Student Information and Campus Administrative Systems (SICAS) Partner Award for 2016.
The SICAS Awards recognize SUNY employees who have made a significant impact at their institutions and within the SUNY system more broadly, through the implementation of administrative software and through training and responsive service to campus community members and stakeholders.
“Joel was nominated for his contributions to the reporting community, where he has developed a framework designed to make reports generic so that they can be shared between campuses,” said Bill Grau, executive director of the SICAS Center. “As a member of the collaborative reporting work group, he has done multiple presentations on his framework and shared his work with anyone who asks. Joel’s framework will provide a long-lasting approach to collaborative reporting and will make the transition away from SQR much easier for everyone. The impact that his framework will have on future reporting cannot be overstated.”
Mumper, who came to New Paltz in 2005, was instrumental in the success of major network infrastructure projects at the College, including the implementation of the Banner system and a migration to a new degree audit software, Degree Works.
Earlier this semester, Mumper was recognized with a SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Service. In presenting that award President Donald P. Christian noted that “colleagues have come to rely on Joel for his expertise and extraordinary programming skills,” and that “Joel approaches each initiative and assignment with deft analytical skills, great dedication and an unfailing can-do attitude.”
