Congratulations to the following faculty and staff members for their notable awards, honors, and appointments and promotions:

STEPHANIE ARCONE (Custodial)  has been appointed Janitor.

KERRY DEAN CARSO, associate professor and chair (Art History), co-edited the fall 2014 issue of the academic journal The Hudson River Valley Review. She also authored one of the essays in the volume, which is a collection of essays delivered at a symposium she organized at SUNY New Paltz in 2009. GLENN GEHER, professor and chair (Psychology), delivered the keynote address for the 2014 Symposium at Mt. Saint Mary’s College. In the talk titled “Evolutionary Studies: A Hotbed of Student Research and Growth,” Geher addressed an audience of young scholars, faculty, and administrators. His talk focused on the great success that has characterized the work of student researchers associated with the SUNY New Paltz Evolutionary Studies (EvoS) Program.

TOM MEYER, associate professor (Secondary Education), received a $60,000 grant from Irving Harris Foundation for his project titled, “Irving Harris Foundation Challenge Grant 2014-16.”

ASHLEY NESTER (Office of Communication and Marketing) has been promoted to Marketing Coordinator.

ELIZABETH PLEVA (Purchasing) has been appointed Contract Agent.

TERRA THOMPSON (Library) has been appointed Library Clerk 2.

CHRISSIE WILLIAMS (Office of Communication and Marketing) has been appointed Writer/Editor.
