Foundation makes $20,000 gift to the State University of New York at New Paltz

NEW PALTZ –The Kresge Foundation of Troy, Mich. has made a $20,000 gift of support to The Lucy Delgado Scholarship Endowment at the State University of New York at New Paltz. The gift is made in honor of Dr. Jane Delgado (’73), a SUNY alumnae, former SUNY New Paltz Foundation board member, and Kresge Foundation trustee, for her 16 years of service to the Kresge Foundation. The endowment was created by Dr. Delgado and is named in honor of her mother, Lucy Delgado.

Dr. Delgado, the author of five books, is the president and CEO of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and is a member of the boards of the Community Health Accreditation Program, the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute, the Northern Virginia Health Foundation, and the National Biodefense Science Board. She also serves on the national advisory council for former First Lady Rosalyn Carter’s Task Force on Mental Health.

The Kresge Foundation is a $3.2 billion private, national foundation that supports Arts and Culture, Community Development, Detroit, Education, Environment, Health, and Human Services.
