School of Business recognizes exemplary faculty and staff

NEW PALTZ– The School of Business at the State University of New York at New Paltz announces the 2011 recipients of its service and teaching awards.

Dr. Kevin Caskey, Dr. Sally Schultz and Dr. Tulin Sener will receive the Distinguished Teaching Award, Distinguished Service Award, and Distinguished Research Award, respectively. Aaron Hines will receive the Staff Service Award.

The awards recognize members of the school’s faculty and staff who demonstrated outstanding service, teaching and research effectiveness.

The faculty and staff will receive their awards during the School of Business’s Award & Graduation Ceremony, which will also include the Honor Society induction and presentation of student academic and service awards, on May 6 in Lecture Center 100 on campus.

“These great members of the school have gone over and well beyond their duties to make significant difference in their profession, the quality of our educational programs and services, and the educational experiences of our students,” said Hadi Salavitabar, dean of the School of Business.

Salavitabar said, “Caskey has been effective in developing new courses, such as Project Management and Entrepreneurship & Business Planning, to address emerging needs while continuously improving the existing curriculum.

Schultz has a long history of distinguished service to the School of Business and campus community in curriculum development, international accreditation efforts and faculty governance.

Sener has published extensively and is an internationally known scholar who has made diverse and significant intellectual contributions in global finance.

Hines, Director of the MBA Program and International Projects, has provided outstanding service to both current and prospective MBA and international students.”
