Swimming Remains in Third Place after Saturday Morning ECAC’s

The New Paltz men’s and women’s swimming team completed the morning session of day two in the ECAC’s. The women’s team is in third place with 403 points. The men’s team is in fourth place adding 334 points. In the combined teams ranking, New Paltz continues to remain in third place with 737 points.

On the women’s side, Marissa Morris finished second in the 200 Yard Backstroke touching in at 2:11.30, and teammate Yuka Suzuka came in third with a time of 2:12.23. In the 200 Yard Breaststroke, Becky Baker came in fourth with a time of 2:32.47.

In the men’s events, Jesse Sweeney finished third in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:56.77, and teammate Steve Cozzolongo touched in at 2:00.29 coming in seventh place. Billy Papetti finished sixth in the 100 Yard Freestyle touching in at 48.31. In the 200 Yard Breaststroke, Rob Webb finished seventh with a time of 2:14.02, and teammate Pete Nastasi came in eighth touching in two seconds behind Webb.

The Hawks return to the pool later this evening to compete in the afternoon events for day two of the ECAC’s.
